After running South Africa close in the Super 8 Group 2 opener, the USA batting lineup buckled under pressure against West Indies while trying to set the pace on a pitch which didn’t get any easier to bat on despite the early flourish from Andries Gous. The bowlers were also found wanting versus the West Indies power hitting exploits, although they were defending a total under 130.
Meanwhile, England are also coming off a tough defeat by seven runs against South Africa despite the late onslaught from Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone in pursuit of a target in excess of 160. The bowlers for England were excellent in the first half of the innings, with Jofra Archer picking up three wickets despite going the distance in his first over, while Adil Rashid did his job exceptionally well too.
