The Rohit Sharma-led Team India is taking on South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 Final at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. While the inaugural champions of the T20 World Cup are eyeing to end their trophy drought, their opponents in South Africa are making maiden appearance in the T20 World Cup history.
Earlier in the match, it was Rohit Sharma -led Team India who won the toss and opted to bat first. This decision did not seem to rest well for the Men in Blue as they lost three wickets early in the inning. After early dismissal of skipper Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant returned to the pavilion in the same over. Suryakumar Yadav also did not have a long stay in the middle as he also made way to the Indian dressing room.
But Axar Patel ’s 31-ball 47 along with Virat Kohli ’s return to form provided India to put a decent score on the board. Kohli, who has been struggling with form off late, finally returned to form, scoring a crucial 59-ball 76. In the 17th over, which was bowled by Anrich Nortje, Kohli timed the ball to pull it to deep square leg.

The star Indian batter Virat Kohli returned to form in the summit clash of the T20 World Cup 2024. The 35-year-old, who has struggled to score big with the bat, scored 76 runs off 59 balls. Notably, he registered first 50-plus score in last 10 T20I inning.
