Spain are currently the joint-most European championship winners with three titles alongside Germany and hold a chance to become the leading Euro champions with four titles if they defeat England in the Euro 2024 final. England, on the other hand, will look to clinch their maiden European honour as they reached their second-ever Euro final, that too, in back-to-back editions.

In the Euro 1984, champions France scored 14 goals, which is the most goals scored in a single European championship to date. Last season, champions Italy and Spain remained one goal away to level the record. However, Spain have another chance to break the record as they are just one goal away to equalise Frances’ 14-goal record.

Spain’s teenage sensation broke a couple of records in the Euro 2024 as Lamine Yamal became the youngest player in European championship history when he appeared in Spain’s opener against Croatia at the age of 16 years and 338 days. Later, in the semifinal against France, Yamal’s equaliser made him the youngest player to score in the Euro at the age of 16 years and 362 days. Yamal, who turned 17 on Saturday, could become the youngest player in history to play in the final of the World Cup or European championship. The record is currently held by late Brazilian legend Pele, who played in the 1985 World Cup final against Sweden at the age of  17 years and 249 days.
