The Indian contingent, filled with great hopes and aspirations, will be heading to Paris later this month, to take part in the 33th edition of the Olympics in France. With more than 100 athletes set to participate at the Paris 2024 from India, the fans can expect a few medals from some of the recognised athletes, while the emerging talent making it to the podium at the games could be a bonus.

Badminton
In badminton, the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who have been world number one in the BWF rankings, got form and confidence to go all the way at the Paris 2024, to win India its first gold medal in the sport at the Olympics. Although PV Sindhu, the two-time medallist at the Olympics, has had issues with form and injury in the recent past, she had the experience and know how to put her best foot forward in a competition as big as the Paris 2024.
Boxing
Nikhat Zareen, the two-time world champion in boxing, has lost only two bouts in her career since 2022, which makes her a prime candidate to win a gold medal at the Paris 2024, where she will be making her first Olympic appearance. Lovlina Borgohain, the bronze medallist from the Tokyo 2020, has had a topsy-turvy time inside the squared circle in the last few months, but winning a silver medal at the Czech Republic Grand Prix will boost her confidence to do wonderful things at the Paris Olympics.
Wrestling
Antim Panghal and Aman Sehrawat have already experienced the top step of the podium at the World Junior Wrestling Championships at a young age, along with Asian Games and Asian Wrestling Championships medals, which will keep them in good stead in regard to winning a gold medal at the Paris 2024. Vinesh Phogat is one of the most decorated wrestlers from India, but she has faced a lot of disappointments at the Olympic Games in the past, which is something she will be looking to put right at the Paris 2024 later this month.
Men’s hockey team
The Indian men’s hockey team is one of the most consistent in the circuit in recent years, with their bronze medal win at the Tokyo 2020 being well known to everyone. In the build-up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the team has done quite well in the highly competitive FIH Pro League, which will help them take on their immediate rivals with the best possible preparation in the upcoming competition, and it could lead to a gold medal in hockey for India at the Olympiad for the first-time in 44 years.
Shooting
Sift Kaur Samra became the gold medallist from the Asian Games in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event with a world record score, making her a top contender from India to win a gold medal at the Paris 2024. Some of the other medal hopes in shooting for India are Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Sarabjot Singh, Manu Bhaker, and Sandeep Singh, among others.
Athletics
Neeraj Chopra, who is widely regarded as the greatest athlete produced by India across sports, has to be the biggest hope for India to win a gold medal at the Paris 2024. The reigning Olympic, Asian, and World champion, who is looking to break the 90m barrier for the first-time in his javelin throw career, will be trying his hardest to achieve his personal best, but most importantly, win the gold medal at the Olympic Games once again.
