Captain of the victorious UEFA Euro 2024 winning Spanish team Alvaro Morata is set to join Italian giants AC Milan ahead of the 2024-2025 season. The Spaniard has been among the top forwards in the world over the past decade, scoring a ton of goals playing for teams like Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea.
In the 2023-24 season, Morata played for Atletico scored 20 goals and registered five assists in 48 games. However, he couldn’t continue this form in Euros as he scored once and assisted once in the tournament, Morata led La Roja to their record fourth European Championship.

But ahead of the Euros, rumours about the 31-year-old was set to leave the Spanish capital and was available for €13M as per the release clause in his contract. Deciding to trigger that option, AC Milan are planning to sign the veteran forward.
The development reported by Fabrizio Romano stated, “AC Milan set to trigger clause to sign Alvaro Morata, here we go soon. AC Milan are set to inform Atlético Madrid of plan to trigger €13m release clause to sign Morata right now. Morata has verbally agreed on four-year deal at Milan, leaving Atlético Madrid & Spain after recent criticism. Medical tests to follow before holidays waiting for the formal steps/documents, verbal agreements in place.”
Morata thanks Andres Iniesta and Bojan Krkic after winning Euros
Alvaro Morata, after winning Euro 2024, spoke about how Andres Iniesta and Bojan Krkic helped him deal with his mental health issues and the pressure of playing for Spain. Speaking to Diario AS, Morata said, “It’s not the right time to talk about my future, it would be selfish.”
“I’m going to enjoy this. I send my thanks to my wife and family and Andres Iniesta. If it weren’t for him and Bojan Krkic, I wouldn’t have played in the Euros. They have been through what I have been and there is always light at the end of the tunnel,” he continued.
