Most Euro Title Wins
France (1984 and 2000) – 2 Titles
France got their hands on the Euro title for the first time while hosting the event in 1984. That French team is considered as one of the most dominant and strongest teams in Euro history to win the tournament. The hosts remained unbeaten throughout the whole tournament and went on to defeat Spain by 2-0 in the final to win their first-ever Euro title. However, this wasn’t the only Euro title that France won, as 16 years later, France repeated their triumph after winning the golden goal against Italy in the Euro 2000 final.
Italy (1968 and 2020)- 2 Titles
Italy have also won the Euro title twice, in 1968 and 2020. They went on to win their first-ever Euro title while hosting in 1968 and went on to defeat Yugoslavia 2-0 in the final. However, it took them 52 years to repeat the glory, getting hands on the title in 2020, defeating England in a penalty shootout.
Germany (1972, 1980 and 1996) – 3 Titles
Germany comes second in the list of teams to win most Euro titles, as they have got their hands on the trophy three times. They won their first Euro title in 1972, defeating USSR by 2-0 in the final. After that, Germany went on to win two more titles in 1980 and 1996 respectively.
Spain (1964, 2008, 2012 and 2024) – 4 Titles
Spain are now the most successful team in Euro history with four title wins. They won their first-ever Euro title 60 years ago in 1964 defeating USSR by 2-1 margin in the final. After that, Spain went to win the title in 2008 and 2012 respectively. And now, Spain have finally won their fourth title, defeating England by 2-1 in the Euro 2024 final to become the most successful team in Euro.
