The first-ever edition of the Esports World Cup is underway in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring 21 titles. Counter-Strike 2 matches are scheduled to start from Wednesday, July 17, 2024. A total of 15 teams will compete in a five-day event for a $1,000,000 prize pool.
Esports World Cup 2024: CS 2 Schedule, Format
The format is divided into four stages: the opening stage, the play-in stage, the playoffs, and the grand finals. JiJieHao has already advanced to the play-in stage being a regional team.
Opening Stage:
The 14 qualified teams will compete against each other in a single elimination bracket, with matches played in a best-of-three format. The winning seven teams will advance to the playoffs, while the losers will compete in the play-in stage.
Play-In Stage:
The play-in stage will feature a single-elimination bracket, with all matches played in a best-of-one format. The 4 winning teams will qualify for the playoffs, while the losers will be out of the grand finals race.
Playoffs:
Playoffs will also feature a single elimination bracket but with a best-of-three-match format. The two winners of the playoffs will battle in the Grand Finals for the title on July 21, 2024.
