Only two months have passed since the end of IPL 2024 and the fans are already excited for IPL 2025 as many big players are expected to leave their respective franchises ahead of the upcoming season. There are a few reports which claim that the Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant will leave DC and join Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2025.

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the skipper of Punjab Kings (previously known as Kings XI Punjab) in IPL 2018-2019. However, he couldn’t change the fortunes of the franchise as they failed to qualify for the playoffs on both occasions. Ahead of the IPL 2020 auction, PBKS traded Ashwin to Delhi Capitals for ₹7.6 Crore. 

4. Lockie Ferguson – GT to KKR in IPL 2023

Gujarat Titans spent a big purse on Kiwi pacer Lockie Ferguson ahead of their maiden IPL season in 2022. However, just a year later, GT traded him to Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹10 Crore ahead of IPL 2023.

3. Shardul Thakur – DC to KKR in IPL 2023

Indian pacer Shardul Thakur was a part of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. However, he couldn’t stay at DC for long as they traded him to Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹10.75 Crore ahead of IPL 2023.

2. Hardik Pandya – GT to MI in IPL 2024

One of the biggest and most shocking trades in IPL history. After six years with Mumbai Indians, the Indian all-rounder joined Gujarat TItans who made their IPL debut in 2022. He was appointed as the captain of the franchise and led GT to the title in their maiden IPL season in 2022 and the runners-up in 2023. Despite a great record with GT as captain, Pandya decided to join his old franchise back for IPL 2024. GT traded Pandya to MI for ₹15 Crore ahead of IPL 2024. He was appointed as the captain of MI, replacing Rohit Sharma.

The Hardik Pandya from GT to MI trade also affected Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they spent a big purse on Cameron Green. Mumbai Indians traded Green to RCB for ₹17.50 Crore ahead of IPL season making it the biggest trade deal in IPL history so far.
