Amidst multiple coaching changes in the Indian Premier League, Punjab Kings is th e latest team looking for a new head coach and move on from Trevor Bayliss. The Australian has been one of the most successful IPL coaches with two titles with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 and 2014 and was with the franchise over the last two seasons.
In these previous two seasons, the Punjab Kings failed to reach the playoffs and settled for a ninth (2024) and eighth-place finish (2023). These results are a continuation of the Kings’ struggles in the tournament since their run to the final in 2014. Over the past 10 years, Punjab has failed to reach the playoffs even once.

After these results, according to a report by Cricbuzz, the franchise is set to be looking for an Indian coach to take over the role. Among the notable candidates include Sanjay Bangar who was the head coach in 2015 and 2016 and has been the post of Director of Cricket for the franchise.

Similar to Punjab Kings, the Gujarat Titans could be looking for a new coach as t heir head coach Ashish Nehra, and the Director of Cricket, Vikram Solanki, are likely to join Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the sources close to SportsTiger have revealed.
Nehra and Solanki have been with Gujarat Titans since their inaugural IPL season in 2022, but they are expected to leave the franchise very soon. During their three-year association with Gujarat Titans, Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki took the franchise to the IPL final twice, winning the coveted trophy in 2022.
