Paris Olympics 2024 Tennis: Rohan Bopanna-Sriram Balaji pair bow out of Paris 2024 after going down 5-7, 2-6 to Gael Monfils-Roger-Vasselin

The Indian contingent must have got their first medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Day 2, but it was a hard day in tennis out there. After Sumit Nagal went down against Frenchman, Corentin Moutet, 2-6, 6-2, 5-7 in a battle which lasted for two hours and 28 minutes, the doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and Sriram Balaji also crashed out of the Games, ending India’s campaign in tennis.

The men’s doubles pair of Bopanna and Balaji lost their opening round match against the French pair of Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Gael Monfils. However, the Indian duo fought hard and was close to take the first set, but the French shut the door. It is to be noted the Indian duo was set to face Fabien Reboul and Edouard Roger, but the former withdrew from the Games, with Monfils replacing him in the side.
