Raj “Snax” Varma, a prominent Indian esports player renowned for his skills in BGMI, announced his return to BGMI Esports by joining forces with VST Gaming ahead of the highly anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2024. The seasoned player also participated in the previous edition of BMPS, though he couldn’t make a significant impact.
Snax joins VST Gaming
On August 13, 2024, VST Gaming revealed their BGMI roster for BMPS 2024, which includes Snax, Shiraj, Dazzle, Beast, and Yadnesh. Snax joins the four-man lineup that also competed in BGIS 2024.
Snax has been inactive in competitive esports since his departure from Team XO in November 2021, during which time he focused on content creation with the 8Bit Creatives a talent management agency. Despite his shift in focus, Snax has shown interest in returning to esports, as demonstrated by his participation in BMPS 2023, where he played alongside notable players Aaru, Attanki, and Dionysus. Unfortunately, the performance did not meet the expectations, leading him to return to content creation.
Snax began his esports journey in early 2019 with Learn From Past. He then moved on to MegaX in mid-2019, followed by a stint with MegaStars until late 2019. From fall 2019 to November 2021, he was part of TeamIND. After a brief period with Velocity Gaming from November 2021 to January 2022, Snax joined Team XO on February 5, 2022, remaining until August 13, 2024.
During this period, Snax participated in various tournaments, including international events such as PUBG Mobile Pro League – South Asia Season 1: Scrims Season 1 and Season 2, and PUBG Mobile World League 2020: East. He achieved notable victories, winning the Skyesports Grand Slam: PUBG Invitational and BGMI Launch Party with TeamIND. Additionally, he claimed first place in the Skyesports Grand Slam 2022 and Upthrust Esports India Rising 2022 with Team XO.
Snax set for BMPS 2024 showdown
Krafton announced the BMPS 2024, which is set to start from August 20 featuring hundreds of teams. This tournament is a big challenge for Snax, who is making his return to esports after a long break although fans are excited on his return.
VST’s BGMI roster, featuring players like Shiraj, Dazzle, Beast, and Yadnesh, has performed well in previous tournaments. It will be interesting to see if Snax replaces any of these players or joins as the fifth member of the team.
About BMPS 2024
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2024 (BMPS 2024) is the third edition of the series and is set to take place in two phases: online and offline. The league phase will be held online, starting August 20, while the Grand Finals will occur as an offline LAN event in Kochi, Kerala, from September 26 to September 29, 2024.
The tournament will boast a substantial prize pool of INR 20,000,000 and will feature hundreds of teams, including those from BGIS 2024, third-party event teams, and top-tier teams. Notable teams like WSB Gaming, Team XSpark, VST Gaming, Legacy Esports, and Gujarat Tigers have already confirmed their participation, with many others still expected to announce their involvement in this highly anticipated event.
