England’s Dawid Malan recently announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. The opening batter is known for his aggressive batting style ability to smash massive sixes. Malan didn’t have a long international career but played some memorable innings and broke some big records in international cricket. However, the left-hand batter will still be seen playing in different franchise leagues. 

Dawid Malan made his international debut for England in a T20I match against South Africa in Cardiff on June 25, 2017. He established himself as one of the best batters from England in the shortest format and achieved the number 1 T20I ranking in September 2020. He is also the fastest batter to reach the milestone of 1000 runs in T20I. Dawid Malan was also a part of the English team that won the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. However, he couldn’t take part in the knock stage of the tournament due to a groin injury.

Dawid Malan is the fastest batter to reach the milestone of 1000 runs in T20 internationals. The opening batter from England took just 24 innings to complete his 1000 runs in the shortest format of the game. Malan achieved this milestone in a match against India in Ahmedabad on March 20th, 2021. 

Highest Batting average in ODIs for England

Dawid Malan boasts the fifth-highest batting average in the ODI cricket and has the highest batting average for England in the 50-over format. Malan has retired with the batting average of 55.76 from 30 matches in his ODI career.
