UEFA Champions League 2024-25 draws announced: Real Madrid to face Liverpool; City and Arsenal get PSG

On Thursday, August 29, the draw for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) 2024-25, to be played in a new format, was held in Monaco, where all the 36 teams found out their eight opponents in the league stage of the tournament. In the major matches, Real Madrid are slated to face Liverpool, while Manchester City and Arsenal will take on Paris Saint-Germain.

The UCL champions Real Madrid are going to compete against Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, FC Salzburg, and Stuttgart at home, while they will travel to Liverpool, Atalanta, Lille, and Brest. Manchester City will play against the likes of Inter Milan, Club Brugge, Feyenoord, and Sparta Prague at home, while their away opponents will be Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Sporting Lisbon, and Slovan Bratislava.

For Liverpool, their home opponents in the UEFA Champions League 2024-25 will be Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille, and Bologna, while their away opponents will be RB Leipzig, AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven, and Girona. Meanwhile Bayern Munich will go up against Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, GNK Dinamo, and Slovan Bratislava at home, while their away opponents will be Barcelona, Shakhtar Donetsk, Feyenoord, and Aston Villa.

Paris Saint-Germain have gotten the rough end of the stick somewhat, slated to face a plethora of big teams’ home and away during the league stage of the UCL. Their opponents at home will be Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, PSV, and Girona, while the French champions will also travel to Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Salzburg, and Stuttgart.

The first round of matches for the UEFA Champions League 2024-25 will start from September 17 onwards with all the 36 teams in action across three days.
