Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho completed his deadline day loan move to Chelsea. The Blues had the deadline of 1 am (BST) to complete the transfer after submitting a deal sheet before the deadline of 11 pm. Sancho joined the west London club on initial loan with an obligation to join the side permanently next summer for a fee of 20 million or 25 million pounds, depending on his performance. He will then be expected to sign a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.
The footballer joined United in July 2021 in a 73-million-pound deal from Borussia Dortmund but went through a tough time. During his tenure, he made 83 appearances across three seasons but had a fall out with manager Erik ten Hag which led to him training away from the first time. He re-joined Dortmund on loan in January and returned to United in the summer but hasn’t played for either side in the Premier League so far.
Earlier during the day, United manager Ten Hag during a press conference said that the footballer could stay with the side. He told the media, “As far as I know, I expect him to stay, yeah. We are happy with him. We need a good squad. We have to play many games until January. After the break we play every third day so we need options.”
Earlier during the summer window, the 24-year-old had been linked with a move to Juventus and as per reports, came close to an agreement with the Italian team. The footballer puts an end to his forgettable spell at Old Trafford. He will hopefully compete for a place in the Enzo Maresca’s XI. The Blues will next be in action on Sunday, as they will clash against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
