Delhi Capitals to retain Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel ahead of IPL 2025 auction; no decision on Yuvraj Singh yet: Reports

Delhi Capitals are reportedly wanting to retain their captain Rishabh Pant ahead of the IPL 2025 auction, apart from giving the vice-captaincy role to Axar Patel for the next season. As far as the talks initiated by Delhi Capitals with Yuvraj Singh about a coaching role are concerned, there is no further information about whether the former Indian cricketer will join them before IPL 2025.

As per the detailed report from RevSportz, Delhi Capitals a re preparing to keep their best players for the upcoming season of the IPL, while bolstering their coaching and backroom staff. Apart from Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel, DC management are interested in retaining Kuldeep Yadav “if there’s no conflict on amount.”

With the departure of Ricky Ponting, who was the head coach of Delhi Capitals for the better part of last seven years, the franchise is in need to replace him with a big name, who can build the team into a dominating force like the 2019-21 seasons. DC are yet to win an IPL title despite reaching the final in 2022, which is something they will be desperately looking forward to changing.

Moreover, Kiran Grandhi, who has caused quite a stir in the league’s auction in recent years, is set to head Delhi Capitals from GMR in the build-up to the IPL 2025. With all this development, DC are expected to look quite different in the upcoming season of the IPL, as far as their players, coaching, and backroom staff are concerned.
