On day five of the second Test match at the Green Park in Kanpur, the Indian cricket team got the better of Bangladesh by seven wickets in the second Test, to win the two-match series 2-0. In pursuit of the 95-run target, Yashasvi Jaiswal took the attack to the Bangladesh bowlers, giving them no hope to potentially secure a win from the jaws of defeat, and just after he completed his fifty at better than a run-a-ball, India got past the finishing line.
Earlier in the day, the Indian bowlers had dismissed Bangladesh for just 146 runs in the second innings after taking a 52-run lead in the first innings before the close of play on day four. During the first three days of this Test match, the rain and wet outfield at the Green Park in Kanpur, were the reason why only 35 overs worth of action took place, due to which the BCCI and the UPCA were severely criticised on social media.

After more than two and a half days worth of cricket was lost in the early stages of the second Test match due to rain and wet outfield, the Indian cricket team took the approach of batting explosively in their first innings, to get a result against Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma declared India’s first innings on 285/9 in 34.4 overs, and during this batting masterclass, the Men in Blue managed to set a record of fastest 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 in a Test innings for any team in the 147-year history of the longest format of the game.
Fielders converting half chances into wickets
The second Test match at the Green Park in Kanpur was quite an exceptional one for the Indian cricket team in the field, with a few sensational catches being taken by the likes of captain Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and a few other fielders. T Dilip, the fielding coach of India, will be delighted with the effort being put in by the fielders right throughout the Test match against Bangladesh, playing a key role in the win on the fifth and final day.
Senior bowlers stepping-up big time
The Indian bowlers had limited time to bowl out Bangladesh batting lineup twice in the second Test match due to rain and wet outfield for majority of the first three days at the Green Park in Kanpur. The senior bowlers Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah, picked up the majority of the Bangladesh wickets in both the innings, while getting decent support from Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, to set up the 2-0 whitewash of the Tigers in the Test series.
