Australian Cricketers Pick India Star ‘Who Sledges The Most’

The Australian cricket team recently revealed that Rishabh Pant, not Virat Kohli, is the India player who sledges the most during matches against them. In a viral video on the social media platform X, the top Australian players like Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, and others agreed that Pant is very good at playful sledging on the field.

Notahly, Rishabh Pant is known for his fearless batting and a funny character on the field who keeps engaging with everyone involved in the game especially while keeping wickets. In the video shared by Star Sport from the 2018 BGT Test series between India and Australia, Pant had a emphatic sledging exchange with Tim Paine. He joked that Paine made comments about MS Dhoni and even asked him to babysit his children, to which Pant responded with his own remarks.

Rishabh Pant’s playful sledging has added to the excitement of the India versus Australia rivalry

“Nobody wants to do it, but when you hear words from the other team, you better respond. I sledged politely when they said Big MS is here; come and play T20 cricket; babysit my kids,” Rishabh Pant said . While Kohli is usually known for speaking up on the field, this time it was Pant who stood out with his clever remarks.

Moreover, it is important to note that the s ledging is a common practice in cricket where players try to distract the opponents or unsettle opponents with banter or remarks.  Rishabh Pant’s lively personality continues to add excitement to the India-Australia cricket rivalry, showing that he’s just as sharp with his words as he is with the bat.  Recently, he made his return to Test Cricket after a horrifying accident in 2022 against Bangladesh, where he scored an impressive century.

Pant has almost confirmed his place as wicketkeeper batter for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25, which is set to start on November 22, 2024. India will face Australia in a five-match Test series, with the hosts determined to win the trophy after failing to do so since 2015.
