WATCH: Alex Pereira drops one-line reply to Jamahal Hill’s yawning gesture after his UFC 307 win against Khalil Rountree

Brazilian MMA fighter, Alex Pereira won the UFC 307 title after defeating America’s Khalil Rountree in the light heavyweight event at Delta Center in Salt Lake City on Saturday, October 5. With this, Pereira defended his third title in 2024. After Pereira’s encounter with Khalil, a video went viral where Jamahal Hill was seen pretending to be yawning, while standing in the audience. When asked about the same, Alex Pereira came up with a hilarious reply, referring to the UFC 300 final between him and Jamahal from April 2024.

During the press conference after winning the UFC 307 title, a reporter asked Alex Pereira, “Jamaha l Hill yawning after the fight looks like he is implying that the fight was boring, just curious if you could respond to that.” Responding to this, Alex dropped a befitting one-liner reply in Portuguese, which was translated in English as, “Maybe he just woke up from UFC 300.” Notably, Alex Pereira defeated Jamahal Hill in the UFC 300 light heavyweight final in April this year.

Khalil Rountree hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in fight against Alex Pereira

As Alex Pereira registered his third title win of the year at UFC 307, it turned out to be a hell of an experience for Khalil Rountree. The American heavyweight suffered gruesome cuts during the fight with Alex and was rushed to a local Salt Lake City hospital for precautionary reasons. Khalil had serious injuries on his nose and near his right eye and was given stitches for precautions. 

During the third round, Alex Pereira overpowered Khalil Rountree while the latter was seen struggling with his leg movements. However, the fourth round turned out to be bloodbath as Pereira pierced Rountree apart and knocked him out to win the UFC 307 title.
