In case the franchises don’t retain any of their players, they can use six right-to-match (RTM) cards instead during the auction, which allow them to bring their best players back to the squad for the same price at which any other franchise makes a final bid.

MI possible retentions for IPL 2025 mega auction
The five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) had a forgettable season in IPL 2024. Under new skipper Hardik Pandya, MI finished at the last position in the points table with just four wins and 14 games. However, few players from MI gained their form back after IPL 2024 and were also a part of India T20 World Cup winning squad.
