After the completion of the Bangladesh series, Team India will host New Zealand in a three-match Test series, starting Wednesday, October 16. The first Test of the series will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and the Men in Blue will continue to extend their unbeaten run at home in Tests.

Moreover, the two teams will be hoping to come out victorious seeing the World Test Championship (WTC) Final scheduled to take place next year. While the Rohit Sharma-led India are just three wins away from confirming their spot in their third consecutive WTC Final, New Zealand will be hoping to spoil India’s chances and get up in the standings.

With the preparation going in full swing, rain threat looms over the first Test of the three-match series. Earlier, persistent and occasional heavy rain in Bengaluru also forced the cancellation of India’s training session the day before the first Test. The preparations saw the first session, which was slotted to take place at 9:30 am, get postponed by an hour and then getting called off.

Talking of the weather forecast for the upcoming first Test in Bengaluru, the first day is expected to be cloudy with periods of thunderstorm in several spots in the afternoon, according to Accuweather. The temperature is expected to be around 22-24 degree Celsius, while the real feel could be 25 degree Celsius.  The probability of precipitation stands at 41% and the probability of thunderstorms is 25%. With that, it can be said that the fans might not see considerable amount of cricket on day one of the first Test match between India and New Zealand.

Speaking of other days, the temperature is set to vary between 25 and 28 degree Celsius with cloud cover on the next few days as well with rains in some parts of the region. According to the data available on Accuweather, there remains considerable chances of precipitation with the third day of the Test match likely to see 67% probability of rain.
