Key Changes for ESL Pro Tour 2025

New Features

  • Open Circuit Format: The franchise system and team invite based on Valve Rankings have been removed. This change allows teams more freedom to choose which tournaments to enter.
  • Best of Five Grand Finals: All Grand Finals will now be best-of-five matches, making them more competitive. This change ensures that teams need to prove their skills across multiple maps to win.

No More Best of One Matches: Bestofone matches will be eliminated, which many players believe do not showcase their abilities effectively.

Financial Support

ESL has promised to give more than $22 million to support the Pro Tour over the next two years. This money will help make the tournaments successful and attract the best teams. While we don’t know the exact prize amounts yet, this funding is expected to improve the quality of the events.
