The Great Virat Kohli can’t even play full toss: Fans slam Indian cricketer for poor shot selection during second NZ Test

Netizens slammed modern-day batting icon Virat Kohli for his poor shot selection against New Zealand in the second Test. Kohli walked into bat at number 4 after Shubman Gill returned to the pavilion after scoring 30 runs. After Kohli’s solid 70 in the first match, he was expected to come up with a similar knock in the second match as well. Notably, India and New Zealand are locking horns in the second game of the three-match series at the MCA Stadium of Pune. India had lost the first game by a margin of eight wickets, which also proved to be their first defeat against the Kiwis in 36 years at home in the longest format.

In the first innings of the game, New Zealand scored 259 runs on the board. In return, India got off to a poor start as skipper and opener Rohit Sharma walked back for a duck. Kohli, who came in at number 4 was expected to come to the side’s rescue when India were in dire need of stability. However, contrary to everyone’s expectations, Kohli could only score one run. On the ninth ball he faced, Kohli played a wrong shot off a Mitchell Santner’s low full toss.
