With the IPL 2025 mega auction around the corner, Delhi Capitals have announced former Indian cricketer Munaf Patel as their bowling coach for the upcoming edition. The fast bowler was a part of the Indian team that won the ODI World Cup in 2011, taking 11 wickets in eight matches. Now , he will join DC’s coaching staff led by new head coach Hemang Badani and director Venugopal Rao.
Munaf Patel replaced former Australian cricketer James Hopes as a bowling coach for Delhi Capitals for the upcoming season of the IPL. Hope was a part of DC’s coaching staff since 2018. Talking about his IPL career, Munaf has played 63 matches in the cash-rich league taking 74 scalps, and was also part of Mumbai Indians’ title triumph in 2013. He has also played for DC’s sister franchise India Capitals in the Legends League Cricket.
Axar Patel to lead DC in IPL 2025: Reports
Delhi Capitals have released their former skipper and wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. Now, IPL 2020 runners-up will now look to find a new player in the leadership role ahead of the upcoming edition in 2025. However, according to the latest reports, DC are likely to appoint Indian all-rounder Axar Patel as their skipper for IPL 2025.
Axar Patel was vice-captain of Delhi Capitals when David Warner was leading the franchise in Rishabh Pant’s absence in IPL 2023. Axar has also been a crucial player for DC in the last few years due to his all-rounder and can taken charge as a skipper in IPL 2025. The IPL 2025 mega auction will take place in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.
