On Wednesday, June 19, Germany will take on Hungary in their second UEFA Euro 2024 match in Group A at the MHPArena in Stuttgart. The German football team are on a high in the early stages of the tournament after brushing aside the challenge of Scotland. At the same time, Hungary suffered a big defeat at the hands of Switzerland, putting their campaign in some jeopardy.
In the UEFA Euro 2024 opener, Germany scored five goals against Scotland with Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, Niclas Fullkurg, and Emre Can finding their names on the scoresheet. However, they conceded a late consolation goal when Antonio Rudiger put the ball in the back of his own net at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
For Hungary, their trip to the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne was far from being a good one, conceding three goals to Kwadwo Duah, Michel Aebischer, and Breel Embolo of Switzerland. Although Barnabas Varga scored for Hungary to keep them in the contest till the end of regulation time, they didn’t quite seem equalising on the night.
Germany vs Hungary: Prediction
The contrasting form between both the teams puts Germany as firm favourites to get the better of Hungary, to take a giant step towards booking their place in the knockout stage of the UEFA Euro 2024. Although it’s quite interesting to note that Hungary have won two of their last three matches in the UEFA competitions against Germany, losing once.
With that said, the German football team have to be on their toes against Hungary when they take the field at the MHPArena in Stuttgart. Considering the two teams’ current form, Germany are expected to clinch the victory against Hungary by 3-1.
