WATCH: Team India reaches 7, Lok Kalyan Marg to meet Narendra Modi after T20 World Cup 2024 win

After arriving in Delhi with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, the Indian team met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence – 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. The Men in Blue defeated South Africa on June 29 in the final of the T20 World Cup to end their 11-year ICC trophy drought in Bridgetown, Barbados.

But since then the Indian team has been stuck in the West Indies due to a Category-4 hurricane in the region. Then on July 3, Team India was flown out of  Bridgetown in the Air India special charter flight AIC24WC – Air India Champions 24 World Cup and arrived in Delhi at 6 a.m. (IST) on July 4 after a 16-hour non-stop journey.

After boarding at the ITC Maurya at around 9:00 AM, the Men in Blue left for the Prime Minister’s residence at 10:30 AM and reached 7, Lok Kalyan Marg at around 10:45 AM. Here the team will be felicitated by the Prime Minister. PM Modi held a similar ceremony after India’s successful campaign after the recent Asian Games.

After meeting the Prime Minister, the Indian team will travel to Mumbai for a grand parade which will start at Nariman Point and end at the Wankhede Stadium. Regarding this ceremony, the local police have made elaborate security arrangements as they expect a large number of fans are expected to gather to watch the procession, according to an official quoted by the PTI.
