After team India’s grand welcome in Mumbai post-T20 World Cup 2024 win, batter Virat Kohli was spotted at the Mumbai International Airport late at night on July 4. The cricketer is reportedly flying to London to be with his wife Anushka Sharma and kids Vamika and Akaay after a triumphing campaign in the USA and West Indies. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. returned home on Thursday, after being stuck in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl for four days.
The team received a warm welcome in the national capital and they met PM Narendra Modi over breakfast. Later, the team flew to Mumbai, where BCCI hosted a grand welcome ceremony, including an open-bus victory parade at Marine Drive and a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium. Following the celebrations, as cricketers head home to meet family and friends, Kohli was spotted at the Mumbai International Airport during late hours.
The cricketer reportedly flew to London to meet his wife, Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and kids, Vamika and Akaay. Notably, Anushka didn’t travel with Kohli for the later stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 and is currently in London with her two kids. The actress was spotted at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York during the clash against Pakistan but was not seen again attending matches throughout the tournament.
It is to be noted that the 35-year-old cricketer bid adieu to his T20 international career after India’s win in the T20 World Cup 2024. The cricketer ended his T20I career by pulling a 59-ball 76 and winning the Player of the Match in the thrilling T20 World Cup final.
