On Saturday, July 14, Donald Trump, the 45th President of the USA, was attacked during a Presidential campaign event at the Butler Farm Show Grounds in Butler, Pennsylvania. A suspected gunman shot Donald Trump, leading to him grimacing and clutching his hand to the right ear with blood visible across his face, following which various US athletes reacted to the incident on X.
As per the report from CNN, Donald Trump was shot multiple times from a distance of around 400 to 500 feet (120 to 150 metres) by the suspected gunman from an elevated position during his rally. The sources of the law enforcement revealed that the shooter was on a building rooftop just outside the rally venue.
The FBI has stated that the shots taken at Donald Trump in the rally were a part of an assassination attempt wherein one audience member got killed. Meanwhile, the Secret Service confirmed that they had killed the suspected gunman.
Kevin Rojek, FBI special agent from the Pittsburgh office, spoke about the Donald Trump incident, “We’re still working through the security apparatus that the Secret Service had in place, what potentially happened. There’s going to be a long investigation into exactly what took place and how the individual was able to get access to the location, and what type of weapon he had. All that is really days, weeks, and months of investigation.”
