WATCH: Sachin Tendulkar turns left-hander on International Left Handers Day

O n Tuesday, August 13, the world celebrated International Left Handers Day, a day which is dedicated to recognise the uniqueness of left-handed individuals and the challenges they face in a world which is primarily dominated by right-handed people. On the special day, former India cricketer and one of the greats of the game, Sachin Tendulkar turned left-handed batter to acknowledge his friends and the left-handed people in the world. 

Although Sachin who has been a right-handed batter throughout his cricketing career, showcased unique skills as he was seen batting left-handed for fun, giving an impression of his ambidexterity. The 51-year-old, who used his left hand effectively when bowling spin, he occasionally bowled left-arm orthodox spin in practice sessions while his professional bowling style was primarily medium pacer or right-arm leg-spinner. 

On the occasion of International Left-Handers Day, Sachin Tendulkar took to his social media to share a 90-second-long footage of himself where he can be seen batting left-handed. Not only this, he even switched to bowl some left-arm spin.

“Today is Left Handers Day. So, everything left can be right. And right can be left,” he said in the video shared on his X. It is to be noted that Sachin has played alongside some of the great left-handed batters, namely, Vinod Kambli, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Kumar Sangakkara, Brian Lara, Sanath Jayasuriya, Chris Gayle, Wasim Akram, among others.
