The exciting 2024 domestic season of senior men’s cricket is set to jet off with the Duleep Trophy. The tournament featuring notable Indian men’s cricketing stars will be played from September 5 to September 22. The forthcoming season will be an exciting affair as this time the tournament will be played in a revamped structure with India A, India B, India C and India D playing in a round-robin format tournament. There will be no knockout games played during the tournament.
The teams for the tournament will be selected by national selection committee headed by headed by Ajit Agarkar. Notably, till the last season, the tournament was played in a zonal format with six teams fighting for the ultimate glory. Last year, South Zone won the tournament by beating West Zone in the finale clash.
Speaking of the upcoming season, it is set to be played at two venues of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. If reports of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and participating in the opening round of the tournament are true, it will be shift to the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Talking about the class-A stars participating in the tournament, fans might see Shubman Gill, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja and Yashasvi Jaiswal taking on the field in the forthcoming season.
