Chennai Super Kings physiotherapist Tommy Simsek took to his official Instagram account to rubbish claims that MS Dhoni broke a television set in anger during the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. The reported claim was made in regards to the last match of the IPL 2024 for Chennai Super Kings, which they ended up losing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, to bow out of the tournament before the playoffs stage.
In the latter stages of this high octane IPL match, MS Dhoni, who scored 25 off 13, was dismissed in the final over by Yash Dayal when the target was just about within sight for the former CSK captain in a rain-curtailed match. It led to Royal Challengers Bengaluru securing their spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs, while eliminating Chennai Super Kings from the competition in the league stage itself.
MSD did not break anything and I have never seen him aggressive after any match: Tommy Simsek
As per the multiple reports in the media, MS Dhoni felt quite frustrated while walking back to the pavilion before breaking a TV set in the dressing room. But, after the reported claim went viral, Tommy Simsek, who fulfils the responsibility of being the support staff of the Chennai Super Kings, wrote on Instagram, “This is absolutely rubbish! MSD did not break anything and I have never seen him aggressive after any match. Fake News! ”
Harbhajan Singh, who was a part of Chennai Super Kings from 2018 to 2020, spoke to Sports Yaari in a recent interview about witnessing MS Dhoni punching a TV screen kept outside the CSK dressing room before what went down inside as per the reported claim in the media. Moreover, MS Dhoni is yet to address either of the two incidents, not denying them either, but at least one of the support staff members in the team has taken his side on the matter.
