Aurelien Tchouameni suffered stress fracture on left-foot, confirms Real Madrid

Real Madrid confirmed that midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni suffered a stress fracture on his left foot, which might keep him out for two months. Tchouameni suffered the injury during Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona on Saturday, October 28. Madrid’s triumph in the El-Clasico seemed to have been dampened after the French footballer suffered the injury.

Madrid released an official statement, where the club confirmed the 23-year-old’s injury. Not only this, but the club also said that further tests will be carried out to determine the severity. The statement read, “After the tests carried out on our player Aurélien Tchouameni by the Medical Services of Real Madrid, an incomplete stress fracture has been diagnosed in the second metatarsal of his left foot. Pending further developments.”

But reports by journalist Arancha Rodriguez suggest that the player is likely to stay out of action for at least two months. Ruling out the in-form Rouen-born would come as a significant blow to the team.

Tchouameni has been in his best form of late, and needless to say, the player’s absence will be felt by Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff. However, his absence also comes as an opportunity for players like Luka Modric and Eduardo Camavinga to secure their regular starting place.
