AUS vs PAK CWC 2023 Highlights: Warner and Marsh’s fireworks ensure Australia’s 62-run win over Pakistan

An all-round team effort helped Australia register their second consecutive win after defeating Pakistan by 62 runs. The win also helped the Australians overcome the poor start with two convincing performances. Batting first, the Kangaroos launched an aggressive batting effort with Mitchell Marsh and David Warner firing all cylinders.

After Usama Mir dropped Warner on a single score, the left-handed great took apart the Pakistani bowling. Aussie openers posted a massive score of 259 runs in 33.5 overs when Marsh departed at 121 in 108 balls with ten fours and nine sixes. Despite losing a sting of wickets, Warner continued his form and eventually departed after 42.2 overs with a historic 163-run knock.

Unfortunately for the Aussies, the batting couldn’t get another big push but Marcus Stoinis’ 21 and Josh Inglis with his 13, helped the five-time World Cup winners a total of 367. Continuing this batting carnage, Pakistan also had a great start with the opening pair posting 134. But a few wickets put the pressure back on the Men in Green.

Despite a few short partnerships, Pakistan struggled after Babar Azam’s wicket and fell apart in the final ten overs.  With Adam Zampa’s four-wicket haul, coupled with two-wicket spells by Pat Cummins and Marcus Stoinis, the Aussies registered a crucial 62-run win over Pakistan.
