CWC 2023: PCB files complaint to ICC about inappropriate conduct from Ahmedabad crowd in IND vs PAK

The Pakistan Cricket Board issued a complaint to the International Cricket Council regarding the inappropriate conduct towards the Pakistani team in the India-Pakistan ICC ODI World Cup 2023 game. Playing at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, the Men in Blue registered a massive seven-wicket win as they chased a modest 193-run total in front of a houseful crowd.

But throughout the game, several videos of chants by the Indian crowd surface target towards the Pakistan team that seemingly crossed the line. Alongside the crowd issue, the PCB will also issue a grievance about the visa delays for Pakistani journalists and fans over this ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

A statement released by PCB, on X, said, “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023. The PCB has also filed a complaint regarding inappropriate conduct targeted at the Pakistan squad during the India vs Pakistan match held on 14 October 2023.”

Talking about Pakistan’s World Cup campaign so far, Babar Azam and Co. had won two back-to-back games against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in Hyderabad, before taking on India in Ahmedabad. The Men in Green will next face Australia in Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
