Hardik Pandya resumes training at NCA Bengaluru; expected to return soon: Reports

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has reportedly resumed training at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The ace cricketer suffered an ankle injury during India’s clash against Bangladesh on October 19 and missed the next clash against New Zealand. As per the earlier updates, Pandya was set to miss a few games in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, which includes a match against South Africa on November 5.

However, as per reports by OneCricket, Pandya resumed batting during training at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on October 27 and October 28. Not only this, but the reports also suggest that the cricketer is likely to make his comeback in their clash against the Netherlands. Pandya has also started light gym work and his swelling has also reduced.

The 30-year-old also faced the bowling machine for approximately 20-30 minutes. Apart from this, the sources also suggest that he batted for around 10 minutes in indoor nets on Friday and had an extensive batting session on Saturday. Considering his resilience and commitment towards the nation, Pandya’s return to the squad is expected to happen next week once he has fully recovered.

The BCCI initially hoped that the cricketer would be fit enough to be featured in the game against England on Sunday. However, with India standing on the verge of a semi-final place, the team management isn’t taking any sort of risk. Instead, the team is focused on his long-term well-being.
