In Tuesday’s double header, Pakistan are taking on Sri Lanka to reignite the Asian rivalry at the global stage. Both teams are coming into this game after contrasting results, as Pakistan beat Netherlands to win by 81 runs, Sri Lanka were defeated by South Africa by a margin by 102 runs.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Kusal Perera was dismissed on duck and made way for Kusal Mendis. While Pathum Nissanka scored a half century, Kusal Mendis’ innings ended at the core of 122, courtesy a brilliant catch by Imam-ul-Haq on the boundary.

Talking more about it, Kusal Mendis smashed Hasan Ali for two sixes on the third and the fourth delivery, but as he was going all out for another six, Imam-ul-Haq, who was stationed near the boundary rope, completed a brilliant catch to dismiss  the in-form batter.

The wicketkeeper-batter added crucial 122 runs during his stay in the middle off 77 deliveries. While with this knock, he became the fastest to reach ODI World Cup hundred from Sri Lanka, after Sanath Jayasuriya and K Sangakkara. He also became the sixth to reach the fastest hundred in ODI World Cup by balls, after Aiden Markram, Kevin O’Brien, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers and Eoin Morgan.
