Bangladesh began their ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup on a winning note but since their first win, the Shakib Al Hasan-led side has failed to surpass England and New Zealand challenge as they lost by 137 runs and eight wickets respectively. However, the side will next face India at the Maharashtra Association Cricket Stadium in Pune on October 19.

Apart from their on-field performance, one of the Bangladesh cricketers was in the limelight for not o good reasons. Opening batter Litton Das was under the scanners after he slammed one of the media personnel for clicking him at the hotel. The right-handed batter wasn’t happy with the presence of media persons in the team’s hotel and the cricketer went upto the security complaining about the same.

However, on realising his mistake, the 29-year-old dropped an apology, showing his respect towards the journalists. Litton took to Facebook and wrote in Bangla which translated to, “I apologise whole-heatedly for the incident that took place in the team hotel yesterday. Actually, I did not realise that a lot of journalists were present there. I am extremely sorry for the sudden mishap. I am always respectful towards the media. Journalists have played a big role in the development of Bangladesh cricket.”

So far in the three matches Das has featured in, he has been dismissed at the scores of 5 (13), 76 (66) and 0 (1). Bangladesh is placed seventh in the standings, having won two of their three matches with two points in their kitty.
