New Zealand cricketers meet H.H. Dalai Lama in Dharamsala post loss against India in CWC 2023

The 2019 ODI World Cup semifinalist suffered their first loss at the ongoing Cricket World Cup against India on Sunday, October 22 after being on a four-match winning streak. While the side opted for an off day in Dharamsala as they went around the city ahead of their next clash against Australia.

In one such instance, the team along with their families also visited His Holiness Dalai Lama’s residence and met the spiritual leader. Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra along with others visited the Tibetan leader, pictures and videos of the same are now doing rounds on social media.

Talking about the Kiwis’ campaign so far in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the side beat reigning champions England by nine wickets in the tournament opener. They then continued their winning run by beating the Netherlands (by 99 runs), Bangladesh (by 8 wickets) and Afghanistan (by 149 runs) before being defeated by India by four wickets.

The Kane Williamson-led side will next take on five-time champions, Australia at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala in October 28.

Virat Kohli visits Chinmaya Tapovan Ashram in Dharamsala

Apart from the Kiwis, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also spent an off day in Dharamsala post their win. While the two took the same car, the former India skipper Virat Kohli also visited the Chinmaya Tapovan Ashram in Dharamsala. Picture of the same is also doing rounds on social media.
