New Zealand cricket has opted for an experience in their ranks as they revealed their squad which will fly to West Indies and USA next month to participate in the  T20 World Cup 2024 . in doing so, the Blackcaps cricket board displayed a heartwarming gesture as they opted for two kids to disclose their 15-member player contingent for the showpiece event.

Kane Williamson, who is currently warming benches for the IPL franchise Gujarat Titans will again spearhead the pack who last finished as the runners-up in 2021, losing the summit clash to Australia in Dubai. The 33-year-old Tauranga batter will field in his sixth T20 World Cup and fourth one as the skipper. Along with him, his 2008 U-19 batchmates Tim Southee and Trent Boult have also reclaimed their spots.

Known for organizing unique methods while announcing squads, Blackcaps selected two kids who introduced themselves as Angus and Matilda, as they came to the press meet to reveal the squad. “Good morning everyone. Thank You for coming here. I’m Matilda. I’m Angus. And today, it will be a pleasure to announce to you the Blackcaps squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA,” the young kids stated.

New Zealand will begin their quest for the maiden T20 World Cup title with a compatible game against Afghanistan, who are no longer the underdogs in the ICC tournaments. They will follow it up with the much-anticipated clash against the two-time champions West Indies and then two relatively easier clashes against Uganda and Papua New Guinea.
