But as Conway departed, Young took charge as he scored a stunning 70 in 80 balls with seven fours and two sixes. With Young, Rachin Ravindra continued his stellar to score a half-century while other members of the middle order – Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham chipped in with 48 in 47 balls and 53 in 46 balls respectively.

With these solid performances with a lower-order flurry by Mitchell Santner, New Zealand posted a total of 322 runs.  Building on the batting effort, the duo of Mitchell Santner (5-59) and Matt Henry (3-40), combined to pick up eight wickets and help register a 99-run win. Ravindra also picked up a wicket while for the Dutch, Colin Ackerman top-scored with a 69 in 73 balls.

Talking about his match-winning performance,  Mitchell Santner shared how the ball skidded on while bowling in the second innings. He said,  “Not too bad, credit to the boys upfront with the bat, they gave us a nice platform. There was a bit of a hole in the middle but we did well to get past 320. It skidded a bit under lights but we contained them and bowled well.”

“It was nice tonight, got a lot of purchase, didn’t bowl my best tonight but happy to get the rewards. We hung in and picked wickets in partnerships, we managed to take wickets like we did against England to slow them down. Today it was slower, held on the pitch and their spinners bowled really well too,” he added.
