ODI World Cup 2023: Fans react after Marius Erasmus caught signalling for DRS at Saud Shakeel’s dismissal during IND vs PAK ODI World Cup 2023

The Rohit Sharma-led Team India stepped onto the field on Saturday, October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad having won both their fixtures at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. While the Men in Green also enter with same results, but a comparatively lower NRR.

However, just as they took the field for toss earlier today, Rohit Sharma invited the Babar Azam-led side to bat first. The Men in Green were bundled out at the mere score of 191 in 42.5 overs, courtesy a well-rounded bowling performance from the Indian bowlers. It was only Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan who stitched an 82-run partnership off 108 deliveries for the third wicket.

Soon after Babar Azam’s wicket, it was Saud Shakeel who was dismissed next. When the umpire on field Marius Erasmus signalled out, he was caught on camera signalling for a DRS review for the Pakistan batter. While this moment might have gone unnoticed during the match, fans hit out at the umpire for his decision and signal, which is now going viral.

Talking more about the match, while Babar Azam scored a 50, having scored a half-century now against all teams in ODIs, Rizwan departed having scored 49 off 69 deliveries. While Jasprit Bumrah scalped two wickets, Siraj, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja also took two wickets in the all-important match.
