After finally being able to win their first match against South Africa in the tournament, the Dutch men were looking forward to continuing their winning momentum. However, the rival bowlers seemed to be in controlling position right from the beginning and destroyed the batting department with their lethal bowling.

It was until Sybrand Engelbrecht’s 70 off 82 and Logan van Beek’s 59 off 75 that the team got some stability and collectively posted a target of 263 for their counterparts. After bundling out their rivals at 262, Kusal Mendis and his men looked confident enough to successfully chasing the target.

Sri Lanka batters in the names of Pathum Nissanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Charith Asalanka played decent innings to get the team their first victory of the season. Samarawickrama’s unbeaten 91 helped the team record a five-wicket win against Netherlands.
