While one of the team will have to taste a win, the other will have their first loss of the tournament. In the ongoing match 21 of the CWC 2023, the Men in Blue won the toss and invited the Kiwis to bat first. While Rohit revealed that there isn’t any specific reason of choosing bowling first, the side reduced the visitors to 34/2 inside the 10 overs before Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell steadied the innings with a 150-plus runs partnership.

Seeing the brilliant form of the 23-year-old youngster, former Indian cricketer and head coach, Ravi Shastri, who is currently a part of the commentary panel at the showpiece event, compared the Kiwi all-rounder to former cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

“Rachin Ravindra has reminded me of Yuvraj Singh,” Shastri said while the New Zealand duo looking good on the field.

Notably, this partnership between Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell proved to be the highest in India versus New Zealand contest at the World Cup for any wicket. Sunil Gavaskar and Kris Srikanth’s 136 in Nagpur in 1987 was previously the highest in the India versus New Zealand World Cup event.
