Unreal gameplay: Twitter heaps praise on Netherlands for remarkable batting against South Africa in CWC 2023

Cricket fans heaped praise on Netherlands batters for displaying brilliant batting skills against the South Africa batters in CWC 2023. South Africa, under Temba Bavuma, locked horns with Netherlands on October 17, Tuesday, at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala. Winning the toss, the Proteas skipper opted to field first in the clash that was reduced to 43 overs on each side due to unfavourable weather conditions.

The bowling efforts by Bavuma and Co. were enough to destroy the upper batting order as they sent the openers back in the hut while they were at just 24 runs. The Netherlands battlers failed to extend their stay on the crease beyond 20 runs, until skipper Scott Edwards took the steering in his hands. They were down and out, and it was Edwards, who stood tall in tough conditions to take the score from 82-5 to 245-8 in 43 Overs.

Edwards played a critical inning of 78* runs off 69 deliveries with a combination of 10 boundaries and one maximum to end the inning at 245. The lower batting order of the Dutch team piled up 104 runs in 9 overs. Impressed by the efforts put in by Edwards and lower-batting unit of the team, fans took to Twitter to heap praise on them.

Here is what Twitter has to say:

In the second innings, South Africa reached 27 runs without any loss of wickets by the end of sixth over.
