Warriors honour Kevin Durant with tribute video before Suns game in NBA

Kevin Durant, the former two-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors, was honoured by the franchise with a tribute video on his return during the NBA opening game night. The 35-year-old, who plies his trade with the Phoenix Suns currently, turned up for his second-ever game at the Chase Center, acknowledging the adulation from the fans.

In 2019, the exit from the Golden State Warriors for Kevin Durant wasn’t on best of terms, but four years later, the old wounds have seemingly been healed. The team governor of the San Francisco based franchise, Joe Lacob talked about how no player will wear the iconic “35” jersey of KD, as long as he is working with them.

The emotional tribute video for Kevin Durant, who took the Warriors to multiple NBA championships, had all of his greatest hits with the franchise. The winner of the MVP award at the NBA Finals, had his biggest shots on the grand occasion for Golden State showcased in the highlight reel.

The return to the Chase Center saw Kevin Durant score 18 points for the Phoenix Suns against the Golden State Warriors, with 10 rebounds and three assists. He was a key contributor for the Suns in getting the better of the Warriors on the road with the scoreline of 108-104.
