WATCH: Anushka Sharma arrives in Ahmedabad ahead of India’s CWC 2023 clash against Pakistan

The highly-anticipated clash between the neighbouring countries India and Pakistan in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the biggest cricket stadium in the world, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match will feature exciting action on the field and many celebrities will be in attendance including legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma.

The World Cup clash between India and Pakistan will also witness star-studded performances by Indian artists like Shankar Mahadevan, Arijit Singh, and Sunidhi Chauhan among others.

On Saturday morning, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, who is included in the commentary panel for the World Cup in India, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared a picture with the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma. The trio were pictured in a flight probably travelling to Ahmedabad for India’s third clash in the CWC 2023.  Karthik captioned, “Royalty at 35,000 ft ✈️ Wishing #TeamIndia all the very best for today!”

A video has surfaced on social media where Anushka Sharma can be spotted at the airport in Ahmedabad ahead of the India and Pakistan clash in the quadrennial showpiece.

Karthik hasn’t taken retirement from international cricket, however, he has taken some time off from playing cricket to commentate in the biggest cricket tournament. During this time, the 38-year-old has been proactively posting on social media sharing his humour and knowledge about cricket.

Ahead of India’s opener against Australia in the World Cup on October 8, Karthik predicted Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja would have a “super day” after looking at the pitch.

Karthik’s prediction was spot on as Jadeja was the most successful bowler for Team India in the match against Australia as he picked up three wickets by giving away just 28 runs in his 10-over spell. His spectacular bowling helped India to restrict the Aussies to 199 runs to eventually win the game by six wickets.
