WATCH: Ben Simmons gives shirt to fan with Nets star’s tattoo on his chest after 76ers clash

One of the most hated basketball stars in Philadelphia, Ben Simmons, who often finds himself in the midst of criticism following his disappointing performances after his injury, showed up for the Brooklyn Nets against his former side Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Preseason game on Monday night. After the game, Simmons gifted his shirt to a fan who had the Australian’s face tattooed on his chest.

The Sixers defeated the Nets 127-119 as Kelly Oubre Jr. scored a game-high 21 points followed by Tobias Harris and Paul Reed’s 18-point game each. On the other hand, Cam Thomas scored a team-high 18 points for the Nets while Ben Simmons registered eight points with nine assists and six rebounds in 29 minutes.

In a viral video on social media, Simmons can be seen interacting with the fans at the stands as they click pictures with the 27-year-old NBA star. One fan showed his unusual tattoo that has Ben Simmons’ face on his chest as the overall No.1 draft pick in 2016 offered him his shirt for the beautiful gesture.

After a disappointing 2022-23 NBA regular season, where he registered a per-game average of 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists with 56.6 percent from the field, Simmons recorded a decent stat-line of 8 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, and some nice highlights against the 76ers.

The NBA 2023-24 regular season will commence on October 24 with defending champions Denver Nuggets squaring off against LeBron James-led Los Angeles Lakers. The Nets will open their 2023-24 campaign against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, October 25 at the Barclays Center.
