WATCH: Fielding coach reveals “Best Fielder” winner from India vs New Zealand CWC 2023 clash

Team India took their revenge for the CWC 2019 semi-final loss against New Zealand on Sunday in the ongoing ODI World Cup as Mohammed Shami and Virat Kohli powered the Men in Blue to win the match by four wickets. In continuation of Team India’s newest rituals, a post-match medal ceremony for the best fielder, fielding coach T. Dilip revealed the medal winner from the Dharamshala clash.

During the fielding, the Indian team dropped a few catches which helped the Kiwi batters to keep going in the middle. However, Rohit Sharma’s side returned to their absolute best and produced some brilliant moments of fielding on the ground including Virat Kohli’s two catches, Shreyas Iyer’s catch, and a boundary save among others.

In a video shared by the Indian cricket team on Instagram, the fielding coach lauded Mohammed Siraj and Virat Kohli while he awarded the best fielder medal to Shreyas Iyer for his stunning catch and crucial save.  The Indian cricket team wrote, “Last time we revealed our “Best fielder winner” on the giant screen. Our “Spidey sense” says this time we’ve taken it to new “heights”. Presenting the much-awaited Dressing room Medal ceremony from Dharamsala.”

In the fourth over of the match, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj sent back Kiwi opener Devon Conway for a duck, courtesy of Shreyas Iyer’s sharp catch.  Iyer displayed brilliant fielding skills and after the catch signalled for the ‘ best fielding medal ‘ towards the fielding coach, T Dilip.
