The defending champions, England are scheduled to square off against underdogs Afghanistan in the  13th match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday at 02:00 p.m. IST. While Jos Buttler’s side are placed fifth with two points in two matches,  Hashmatullah Shahidi’s men are yet to win a game and are placed at the bottom of the points table. 

South Africa Women vs New Zealand Women 5th T20I

The first three matches between South Africa Women and New Zealand Women in the ongoing five-match T20I series couldn’t be completed due to rain. In the fourth match, New Zealand defeated the hosts by seven wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series on Saturday. The Proteas women’s team will look to level the series against the Kiwis in the fifth and final T20I match on Sunday at 05:30 p.m. IST at Willowmoore Park, Benoni.

Rohit Sharma and bowlers shine as India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in CWC 2023

The Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored a breathtaking fifty at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, to help his team secure an emphatic win by seven wickets in the ODI World Cup 2023. On Saturday, October 14, it was the Indian bowlers, who delivered a quality performance as a unit, to skittle out Pakistan for 191 within 43 overs in the first half of the match. Five Indian bowlers picked up two wickets each to bowl out Pakistan as Rohit and Shreyas Iyer hit half-centuries to help India reach the target with 117 balls remaining.

Ahead of the India-Bangladesh, a report on Shakib Al Hasan’s participation came under the radar. As reported by Cricbuzz, Shakib is said to be a doubtful starter for the game due to a left quad tear he sustained during the game against New Zealand.

While this incident unfolded in the 38th over of the Kiwi inning, an X-ray on Saturday, October 14 confirmed an undisplaced fracture.

Dasun Shanaka ruled out of remainder of World Cup; Karunaratne to replace

Sri Lanka suffered a major blow as their skipper Dasun Shanaka has been ruled out of the rest of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 due to an injury. The Sri Lanka captain picked up a quad injury during their clash against Pakistan on Tuesday, October 10, and as per the scans, the all-rounder has been asked to rest for a minimum of three weeks. Replacing Shanaka, Chamika Karunaratne has been included in the squad.
