On the other hand, in the WBBL, the Sydney Thunder beat Melbourne Renegades by eight wickets.

ODI World Cup 2023: Pakistan vs South Africa

Pakistan will take on South Africa in the 26th match of the ODI World Cup 2023, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. With three consecutive losses, the Men in Green are looking down the barrel in the quadrennial spectacle, while the Proteas have smashed England and Bangladesh in their last two outings. Pakistan have had the better of South Africa with three wins in previous four meetings, but they will need to improve their performance by a lot, to challenge them on October 27 .

WBBL 2023: Adelaide Strikers vs Hobart Hurricanes

The 12th match of the Women’s Big Bash League 2023 will see Adelaide Strikers take on Hobart Hurricanes at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane. While the Striker are sitting at the third place having two out of the three games, Hurricanes are currently placed at the bottom, having lost both its games so far in the season.

WBBL 2023: Brisbane Heat vs Melbourne Stars

In the second match of Friday’s double-header, table toppers Brisbane Heat will go-head-to-head with Melbourne Stars at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane at 3:00 pm IST. While the Heat are sitting at the top of the table, Stars are sixth having won only one games.

Sri Lanka beat England by 8 wickets in ICC ODI World Cup 2023

The Sri Lankan side got the better of the reigning champions, England as they registered their second win of the season. With this win, the Lankans have now won five matches on the trot against the Three Lions in the World Cups, since 2007. Having opted to bat first, England was bundled out for 156 in 33.2 overs which the Lankan top order chased down in 25.4 overs to go fifth place in the standings.

IPL 2024 Player Auction to be staged in Dubai: Reports

BCCI has reportedly narrowed down the dates for IPL 2024 Player Auction, which is likely to be hosted outside of India. Although no official notification has been sent to the franchises, reports add that the auction will be staged in Dubai between December 15 and 19. However, the plan might be tentative, all ten IPL franchises have been informed of the consideration of Dubai as a venue.

VV Laxman to be India’s head coach for Australia T20I series: Reports

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to appoint former Indian batter VVS Laxman as the coach of the Indian team for the Australia series after the World Cup, as per reports. The Men in Blue will lock horns in a  five-match T20 series against Australia will begin in Visakhapatnam on November 23.

PCB urges cricket fraternity to support team at CWC 2023

Days after Pakistan’s  humiliating loss  against Afghanistan , t he Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent out a statement and urged the cricket fraternity to support the Babar Azam-led side. “In this challenging environment, the board administration hopes that the cricketing fraternity and fans will continue to support captain Babar Azam and the entire Pakistan cricket team,” the PCB wrote .
